With its soothing, neutral, steel blue-gray appearance, Solarban z50 glass brings a distinctly different aesthetic to the Solarban family, along with minimal exterior reflectance, superb solar control and high levels of visible light transmittance (VLT).
Developed to meet architects’ demands for a neutral glass, Solarban z50 glass controls glare while providing the daylighting and solar control needed to support sustainable design.
In a 1-inch insulating glass unit (IGU), it combines VLT of 51 percent with a solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) of 0.31 that is up to 23 percent better—as well as a light to solar gain (LSG) ratio of 1.65 that is up to 30 percent higher—than products with a similar aesthetic. That performance makes Solarban z50 glass ideally suited to climate zones that are more equally balanced between heating and cooling seasons. A low interior reflectance of 8 percent also provides interior occupants with a clear, natural view of the outdoors.
